Online Admissions Procedure
Are you are new to Olympic College and planning
to start a degree program via distance learning, or are you simply interested
in enrolling in a distance learning course that isn't available at another college near
your home? If so, this procedure will walk you through the steps required
to submit the Olympic College online admissions form. Prior to completing
this form you would be well advised to read the entire web page describing
the admissions process at Olympic College.
-
Surf to http://www.oc.ctc.edu/enter/
and read the entire page.
-
Scroll back to the fourth paragraph under the
heading of "Ten easy steps to college" that reads: "If
you plan to attend entirely as a distance student (not on campus at all),
please fill out this admissions form and send it to us."
-
Click the hyperlink labeled "please
fill out this admissions form" in the paragraph
noted above. You can get there from this link, but be sure to read the
"Ten Easy Steps" page at http://www.oc.ctc.edu/enter/
first!!
-
Send the completed form by clicking on the "Submit
Application" button at the very bottom of the form. For your records, you
may want to print the filled in page using your browser's Print menu item
and save the page as a file on your hard drive.
-
After the College receives and processes the form,
the Admissions staff will contact you.
-
Depending on your situation (number of credits
planning to take, etc.), you will receive assistance either obtaining advising, registering using the telephone "Touchtone" system or registering from the OC Web page "OASIS" system (by directly entering OC's course item number from the View Schedule of Class).
-
Once registered, about a week prior to the start
of the quarter, you will receive a letter from Media Services providing
more details about things to do in preparation for the course(s) in which
you have enrolled. You can also view the letter on this web site. Similar information is available at the WAOL website
(http://www.WashingtonOnline.org/t_support/t_support.asp).
If you have any questions regarding this procedure,
please contact Media Services at 360-475-7770 / 800-259-6718 (enter 7770
for the extension). Questions about the online admissions and registration
process can be directed to 360-475-7210 / 800-259-6718 (enter extension
7210), or to the Registrar, Dr. Jolene Ramaker at 360-475-7208 / 800-259-6718
(enter extension 7208).
We look forward to seeing you "online"!!
